Our reason for being stems from decades of experience of observing the difference between organisations that do, and don’t, have the ability to release the potential of their people’s discretionary effort.
Discretionary effort is the difference in the amount of effort an individual one is capable of applying to an activity, and the minimum effort required to only make do.
The release of discretionary effort is a powerful force and, in our view, stems from ensuring that there are clear, strong and motivating connections between the output of people and the outcomes of the organisations, and that there is a focus on ensuring that people excel at basic professional skills thereby allowing them to operate in innovative and intelligently instinctive ways to solve real business problems.
We use tried and tested techniques and tools to facilitate the work of clients to ensure that Mission, Values and Vision are clear and well dispersed. We have developed and successfully deployed our own methodology when working with clients to define, structure and manage Performance Plans and we’re frequently asked to facilitate and critique the review processes associated with these plans.
We develop and deliver training packages, primarily focused on what we term Career Skills – those basic, but often elusive, skills and capabilities that every individual should excel at. It is these skills that are often overlooked, forcing organisations to manage competing methods and varying degrees of skill. We enable our clients’ people to excel at the basics freeing up their time, energy and intelligence to be creative, innovative and motivated.
